Day-to-day expectations
A clear list of the work this role is designed to cover.
- Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the the foundational primitives upon which everything at Render is built. Your scope spans compute & orchestration, network topology, traffic, and routing features, and data storage infrastructure..
- Drive prioritization across Render's platform investments, balancing the leverage of foundational capabilities against near-term product and business needs and being able to negotiate those tradeoffs.
- Partner deeply with Engineering & other Product teams to shape the technical direction of Render's core infrastructure, ensuring architectural decisions optimize for long-term reliability, performance, and extensibility. You’ll own the base layer of our stack, so having the dexterity to understand the shape of our other Product investment areas is essential.
- Develop a strong, opinionated point of view on how Render's platform primitives need to evolve to serve AI-native builders, from compute and orchestration to storage and runtime.
- Set the standard for how product teams build on Render's platform , providing clear guidance, boundaries, and abstractions that make it easy for other product leaders and external customers to ship with confidence.
